Ramakrishna Mission, Vacoas, Mauritius

The centre was started in 1941.  Swami Krishnarupananda is its swami-in-charge.


  1. Daily worship, occasional discourses, and fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan.
  2. Yoga classes, retreats and weekly religious classes at the centre, and occasional lectures at different places in the island.
  3. Weekly religious and cultural classes for children and annual cultural competitions for students.
  4. A library and a book showroom.
  5. Yearly book exhibition.
  6. Celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and some other religious luminaries, as also festivals like Durga Puja and Kali Puja.

Activities of the sub-centre at St. Julien D’Hotman:

  1. An English-medium pre-primary school with 17 children.
  2. Hindi classes for children.
  3. Weekly religious discourses.
