Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia

The Vidyapith was started in 1958.

Activities:

1. Two residential higher secondary schools (class 5 to 12) — one English-medium and another Bengali-medium.
2. Two coaching centres.
3. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
4. An observatory with a computerized telescope for the use of students and the public.
5. An archaeological and art museum.
6. An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary and a 45-bed medical ward for the students and staff.
7. Religious activities: Regular religious discourses, occasional spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birth anniversaries of the Holy Trio and other spiritual luminaries.
8. Welfare work: Providing food, clothes, blankets, and educational and pecuniary aid.
