The Vidyapith was started in 1958.

Activities:

• Two residential higher secondary schools (class 5 to 12), one English-medium and another Bengali-medium.
• Two coaching centres.
• Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
• A vocational training centre which imparts training in tailoring and general duty assistant.
• An observatory with a computerized telescope for the use of students and the public.
• An archaeological and art museum.
• An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary, and a 41-bed medical ward for inmates.
• Religious activities: Regular religious discourses, occasional spiritual retreats, and celebration of the birth anniversaries of the Holy Trio and other spiritual luminaries.
• Welfare work: Providing food, clothes, blankets and educational and pecuniary aid.
