Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Memorial, Porbandar

This centre was started in 1997 on the Bhojeshwar Bungalow premises, which is sanctified by Swami Vivekananda’s stay for four months in 1891-92.

Activities:

• A dispensary with a physiotherapy section.
• Eye camps.
• A library.
• A coaching centre.
• Vocational training in tailoring.
• A permanent exhibition on Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.
• Welfare activities: Providing ration kits and educational and medical aid.
• Religious activities: Daily prayers, religious discourses and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.
• The centre celebrated  its silver jubilee by holding a youths’ convention, a spiritual retreat, a public meeting, devotional music programme and discourses, in which a total of 1350 people participated. A commemorative volume was also released  on the occasion.
