Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Bourne End, United Kingdom

Started in 1948, this centre of Ramakrishna Math is housed in a commodious building, about 45 km away from Central London.  Swami Sarvasthananda is the minister-in-charge.


  1. Publication of Vedanta, a bi-monthly journal in English (67th year). The centre also maintains a book showroom.
  2. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious teachers, as well as festivals such as Durga Puja and Christmas Eve.
  3. Regular spiritual retreats, interviews and discourses.
  4. Lectures in the centre and elsewhere in the UK.
  5. The swami also visited the America, France, Ireland and Tunisia, and spoke at various places, gave interviews to spiritual seekers, conducted spiritual retreats there, and participated in several seminars and inter-religious meets.
  6. The centre made donations for charitable works through the Math and Mission centres mainly in India.
