Vedanta Centre of Sydney, Australia

The centre was started in 1990 and affiliated to the Ramakrishna Math in 2000. Swami Sridharananda is its Minister-in-charge.
Activities:

1. Publication of Reach, a quarterly newsletter.

2. Religious activities: Daily worship, evening arati, Ramnam Sankirtan, devotional songs, scriptural classes, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

The Vedanta Society has five chapters or sub-centres:

1. Activities of the Vedanta Centre of Sydney – Adelaide Chapter: Daily worship, evening arati, scriptural classes, interfaith meetings, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

2. Activities of the Vedanta Centre of Sydney – Brisbane Chapter:

   • Observance of International Yoga Day and Harmony Day.

   • Yoga classes, Hindi language classes, other regular and summer classes, and special online lectures.

   • Fairs with various stalls to attract the wider public to the ashrama.

   • A food bank providing free food and groceries to the needy, and a cafeteria providing low-cost meals once a week.

   • A legal aid cell.

   • Religious activities: Daily worship, chanting, evening arati, scriptural classes, interfaith meetings, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

3. Activities of the Vedanta Centre of Sydney – Canberra Chapter: No major activities during the reporting period.

4. Activities of the Vedanta Centre of Sydney – Melbourne Chapter: Daily worship, evening arati, scriptural classes, lectures, interfaith meetings, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

5. Activities of the Vedanta Centre of Sydney – Perth Chapter: Evening arati, monthly satsangs, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.
