The centre was started in 1968 and affiliated to the Ramakrishna Math in 1989. Swami Kripamayananda is its Minister-in-charge.

Activities:

1. A library with a reading room.

2. Public-speaking competition for school children.

3. A bi-monthly Sunday school for children.

4. Community involvement through observing International Yoga Day and Senior Citizens’ Day.

5. Publication of a monthly e-newsletter.

6. Welfare work by serving food to the homeless and needy.

7. Religious activities: Daily meditation and evening service, bhajans, lectures, religious classes, monthly study circle, interviews to students and spiritual seekers, retreats, a monthly vigil consisting of japa, meditation, and singing of Ramnam, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio, Sri Krishna, Buddha, Christ, and other religious festivals.
