Vedanta Society of Toronto, Canada

This centre was started in 1968 and made a branch of Ramakrishna Math in 1989.  Swami Kripamayananda is its minister-in-charge.


  1. Daily meditation and evening service, bhajans, Sunday lectures and weekly religious classes.
  2. Lectures at various cities in Canada and USA.
  3. Interviews with students and spiritual seekers.
  4. A library with a reading room and a book showroom.
  5. Annual retreat for devotees, an annual seminar and annual public speaking competition for school students.
  6. Bi-monthly Sunday school for children.
  7. Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Krishna, Buddha and Christ, as well as some other religious festivals.
  8. Community involvement through celebration of International Yoga Day and Senior’s Day.
  9. A vigil, consisting of japa and meditation and the singing of Ramnam, once a month.
  10. Publication of a bi-monthly newsletter-Vivekananda Review.
  11. Welfare work by distributing food to the homeless and needy.
