The Society was founded in 1925. Swami Chandrashekharananda is the Monk-in-charge of this affiliate of the Ramakrishna Math. Its spacious home and temple are in the attractive Mt Tabor District.
Activities:

Weekly youth forum.

Welfare activities: Providing food to the poor and financial assistance to the centres of the Math and Mission in India.

Religious activities: Daily worship, vesper service, meditation, bhajans, Ramnam Sankirtan, scriptural classes, discourses, retreats, and celebration of the birthdays of the Holy Trio and other religious festivals.

The Society has a retreat at Scappoose in a 289-acre wooded area, overlooking the Columbia River Valley. Located 40 km away from the city, the retreat has several remote forest shrines which are used for meditation by the members and friends during vacations.
