The Math centre was founded by Swami Brahmananda (a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna) in 1919.
The Mission centre was founded in 1920.

Activities of the Math centre :

  1. Daily worship, regular religious classes, and discourses in and
    outside the Ashrama.

  1. Celebration of Kali Puja and the birthdays of some prophets and
    saints.

  1. A publication department which publishes books in Odia. Five new
    and 25 reprints were brought out during the year.

  1. Provided scholarships to 12 poor and meritorious students.



Activities of the Mission centre :

  1. A high school with 352 boys and 239 girls.

  1. A free students’ home for 60 tribal boys.

  1. A charitable allopathic dispensary, which treated 20,040 cases.

  1. A rural mobile medical unit, which treated 3973 cases.

  1. A library and a free reading room with 29,002 books and 96
    periodicals and newspapers.

  1. Monthly cultural meetings and regular yogasana classes for
    youths.

  1. Relief work and occasional pecuniary help to the poor.

  1. Medical awareness camps.
