Started elsewhere in Kolkata in 1916 and shifted to its present site at Belgharia, the students’ home has various wings as given below in the activities.

Activities of the Mission centre :

  1. A hostel for poor and meritorious college students, with a library (1890 textbooks) and a prayer hall. Out of the 104 boarders, 67 were maintained free this year.

  1. Shilpapitha, a government-sponsored polytechnic which offers
    three-year diploma courses in civil, mechanical, electrical,
    electronics and telecommunication engineering. It had 664 students
    during the year. It has a separate library with 23,323 books, mostly
    on the subjects concerned.

  1. A library (with 15,825 books) and a free reading room for the
    local public.

  1. A weekly homoeopathic dispensary (3973 patients treated).

  1. Welfare work by way of serving cooked food to poor
    people once a week.

  1. Activities at the ancestral house of Swami Vijnanananda (a monastic
    disciple of Sri Ramakrishna): daily worship, religious classes and
    a weekly charitable homoeopathic dispensary (1665 patients treated).
