The ashrama was started in 1926 and made a branch of the
Mission in 1931.
Activities of the Mission centre :
A higher secondary school (recognized by the Board of
Secondary Education, West Bengal), with 716 boys and 96 girls.
A pre-basic school with 413 boys and 249 girls.
Five coaching centres, with 306 students.
A library with 4923 books and 4 periodicals.
An allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary, which treated 8915 patients this year.
A mobile medical unit, which treated 10,504 patients.
Religious activities included regular spiritual classes, occasional
lectures in and outside the ashrama, and celebration of the birthdays
of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami
Vivekananda and other spiritual luminaries.
Welfare work by way of providing pecuniary help and food to
the needy textbooks, school uniforms, etc to poor students,
A students' home for 11 boys.
