The centre, situated at the birthplace of Swami Trigunatitananda (a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna), was taken over by the Ramakrishna Math in February 2011.

Activities of the Math centre :

  1. Three free coaching centre with 136 students. An early childhood education centre was run where special classes were organised for children of 3 to 5 years for developing school going habits and basic personal healthcare.

  1. The mobile medical unit treated 1310 patients during the year.

  1. Welfare work by way of providing of clothes, blankets and pecuniary help to the poor.

  1. Religious activities : Daily worship, religious discourses and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Trigunatitananda and other saints.

  1. A vocational training unit imparting training on wool-knitting, tailoring, mushroom cultivation and preparing solar lanterns (Total 20 trainees).

  1. An adult education centre with 32 students.

  1. An allopathic charitable dispensary which treated 4030 patients.

  1. A cultural centre where 350 students were given training on physical exercise, parade, games, bratachari, yoga etc.

  1. Under rural development work

    (a) about 300 solar lanterns were distributed free in Sundarban area and the beneficiaries were offered training on their maintenance,

    (b) constructed household and community toilets, and

    (c) conducted awareness programmes on health, hygiene and immunization.
