The ashrama was started in 1944.
Activities of the Mission centre :
A students’ home with 72 students, all of them being tribal boys,
who were provided free board, lodging and coaching facilities.
A vocational training centre, which trained 37 boys in typewriting.
Ten free coaching classes for 323 students.
A library and a free reading room with a children’s section, having
26,138 books, and 46 newspapers and periodicals.
Annual competitions in speech, drawing, etc for students.
A mobile medical unit (10,513 cases treated this year).
Free dental camps, where 280 cases were treated this year.
Medical relief work on the car festival day (Ratha Yatra)
benefitting 20,000 pilgrims and distribution of clothing, stationery,
etc to poor students, weekly free ration to aged persons, etc.
Religious activities: Daily worship, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan,
and celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna,
Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other
spiritual luminaries.
